Description

The stone for a calmer mind, shaped for change.

Amethyst is the one almost everyone recognizes and for good reason. It’s the crystal world’s deep breath: calming, clearing, the stone people put by the bed to sleep better and on the desk to think clearer. It has centuries of reputation behind it, from the Greeks who believed it kept the head clear to modern collectors who just find it steadying to hold.

Carving it into butterfly wings adds a second layer. Butterflies are the transformation symbol, the reminder that the messy in-between stage is part of the process, not a failure of it. So this is amethyst for a person mid-change: new job, new city, new version of themselves. The stand lets the wings catch light, which is where amethyst shows off, going from grape-dark to violet as the sun moves.

If you’re in the middle of becoming someone and need the calm to see it through, this is your stone.

Physical Properties

Appearance: purple quartz, from pale lavender to deep violet, o en with lighter and darker zones in one piece. Semi-translucent.

Composition: quartz (silicon dioxide) colored by trace iron and natural irradiation.

Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale. Durable, but the thin tips of the wings can chip if dropped. Origin: Brazil and Uruguay are the main sources; also Zambia, Madagascar, and the United States.

Size: [Wings X” across × Y” tall; overall height on stand Z”; approx. W oz] Stand: metal display stand with round base, included.

Metaphysical Properties

Amethyst is known as a stone of calm, clarity, intuition, and protection, and it’s tied to the third eye and crown chakras. Where it’s useful: sleep and dreams, anxiety, breaking habits, meditation, and cutting through mental noise. The butterfly form adds transformation, rebirth, and trusting the process.

How to Use It

On the nightstand: for calmer sleep and clearer dreams.

On your desk: where you need a steady head.

In meditation: sit with it in view and let your breathing slow.

For intention work: name the change you’re in the middle of and let the wings hold it. Crystal pairings: Clear Quartz to amplify, Rose Quartz for self-compassion, Selenite for clearing, Labradorite for transformation.

Care and Maintenance

Amethyst can be rinsed and dried. One real rule: keep it out of long direct sunlight, which fades the purple over time. Cleanse with moonlight, smoke, or selenite. Li by the base, not the wing tips.

If it calls to you, it’s meant to be yours.
